URBAN DESIGN STUDIO PROJECT PUBLICATION ON ARCHIDIARIES

The Urban Design Studio project, titled “Rethinking the Urban Façade of Mohammadpur Town Hall Bazaar: Connecting People, Place, and Architecture,” was published on ArchiDiaries on 30 November 2025. ArchiDiaries is an online platform that showcases architectural projects, research, and student work from around the world. The project was developed during the Spring 2025 session by Level 4, Term 1 students of the Department of Architecture, MIST. The studio was guided by Assoc. Prof. Sudipti Biswas, Asst. Prof. Shafinaz Sameen, Lec. Arfa Islam, and Lec. Tahiad Chowdhury.
Kazi Nadira Anjum, Adib Bin Abrar, Wasifa Nusrat Shamma and Asfat Islam Abir reimagined the Mohammadpur Town Hall Bazaar by strengthening the connection between people, place, and architecture, while reviving its cultural identity through a more organized approach to everyday activities. By integrating the bazaar with civic and local artisan spaces, the proposal transforms the area into an inclusive and lively civic environment that goes beyond a commercial marketplace, drawing inspiration from regional modernism and the existing façade language to reflect local context and community life.
