Department of Civil Engineering, MIST Holds 5th Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) Meeting
The Department of Civil Engineering (CE), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), successfully organized its 5th Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) Meeting on 15 January 2026.
The meeting, chaired by the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Brig Gen A N M Foyezur Rahman, ndc, psc, continued for nearly three hours and witnessed active participation from distinguished professionals from both industry and academia.
The session was honored by the presence of eminent personalities, including Prof Dr. Ishteaque Ahmed (Head, Department of Civil Engineering, BUET), Mr. M A Sobhan (Managing Director, DPM), an Executive Member of IEB, Managing Director of SKS, representatives from DW&CE (Army and Navy), the Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board, the CEO of Akij Ispat, Ms Fahima Shahadat (Country Manager, Menard South Asia), along with many other renowned experts.
The panel members expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the remarkable progress of the Department of Civil Engineering, MIST, particularly in academic excellence, research activities, and industrial engagements. They also provided valuable recommendations to further enhance the department’s academic and professional standards.
The Department gratefully acknowledged these insightful suggestions and sought continued cooperation from industry stakeholders. The recommendations are expected to play a vital role in producing competent, industry-ready civil engineering graduates while strengthening academia–industry collaboration and expanding networking opportunities for MIST graduates.
